Norma verticals

Norma verticals is the superior view of the skull which contains :
Bones
1- Frontal bone : single and anterior
2- Parietal bones: one on each side
3- Occipital bone : single and posterior
Sutures
1- Coronal suture : Horizontal, present between the frontal bone and the two parietal bones.
2- Sagittal suture : antero-posterior , present between the two parietal bones.
3- Lambdoid suture : present between the occipital bone and the two parietal bones.

Points of meeting of bones:
1- Bregma : between the the coronal suture and the sagittal suture. It is represented by the anterior fontanelle in the foetal skull which is rhomboid in shape and ossifies or obliterates at 1.5 years after birth.
2- Lambda : point of meeting between the sagittal suture and the lambdoid suture. It is represented by the posterior fontanelle in the foetal skull which is triangular in shape and ossifies or obliterates in the first three months after birth.
