The relations of fibrous pericardium
Anterior, attached to the sternum by superior and inferior sterno-pericardial ligaments and related to the pleura and left lung except for cardiac notch.
posterior, related to the oseophagus, four middle thoracic vertebrae and descending thoracic aorta.
On each side, there are mediastinal pleura, phrenic nerves and pericardio-phrenic vessels.
